Briston & Mathis Bourgnon: a blend of maritime heritage and boldness
A great encounter between modern sailing and characterful watchmaking
Since its inception, Briston has sought to embody a free spirit, an athletic temperament, and a strong aesthetic. There is a natural affinity with the world of sailing: challenge, precision, adaptation to the elements, and a desire for self-transcendence. It is within this philosophy that the partnership between Briston and the young skipper Mathis Bourgnon is forged.
Mathis is not just a promising sailor: he represents a generation that blends entrepreneurial spirit, autonomy, and a pursuit of performance. Active on various platforms (Mini 6.50, catamarans, offshore racing yachts), he has demonstrated for years an ability to excel in demanding environments.
The Clubmaster Regatta watch—designed for the world of regatta—finds its ideal ambassador in this partnership with Mathis. Just as the skipper must contend with wind cycles, tides, and competitions where every second counts, this watch combines elegant design with technical features (start countdown, readability in difficult conditions, robustness) to serve sea and sport enthusiasts.

Mathis Bourgnon: portrait of a rising captain
-
At 28, Mathis combines solo racing with participation in collective races, showcasing his versatility.
-
His career is marked by first victories: former European champion in Nacra, catamaran records in the Mediterranean, success in raid and multihull events.
-
Accustomed to managing his own projects (logistics, budgets, partnerships), he embodies a comprehensive approach to offshore racing.

A significant victory
The young sailor has just triumphed in the 25th edition of the Mini Transat La Boulangère 2025, winning the solo crossing between the Canary Islands (Santa Cruz de La Palma) and Guadeloupe (Baie de Saint-François). With a thrilling finish worthy of a regatta. Even more symbolically: his victory comes exactly thirty years to the day after that of his father, Yvan Bourgnon, in 1995.
