HISTORY & INSPIRATION

Briston is an independent French watch brand conceived by Brice Jaunet in June 2013. Find out more about the origins of the brand, its history, inspirations and achievements.

THE GENESIS

BRISTON

Nurtured from an early age by an entrepreneurial spirit, particularly that of his grandfather Jacques, founder of the NewMan brand in 1967, Brice has always had the ambition to bring his creativity to life. After 15 years' experience in the watch industry, which took him from Cartier to Zenith via Baume & Merci and Raymond Weil, the project came to life in 2012 in collaboration with Swiss designer friends.

SPORTY-CHIC

SPIRIT

A Briston watch stands out for its fundamentally watchmaking DNA and its sporty-chic spirit. This is the "British" spirit that the English have mastered to perfection, from the Oxford campuses to the polo fields and rowing races. It's a style that's chic, casual and quirky, and was quickly adopted in the United States from the 1950s onwards. This sportswear style, also known as "preppy", appealed to Ivy League students, starting with the most famous of them all, the iconic John F. Kennedy, and went on to become the success of brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Gant and Brooks Brothers...

This sports-chic spirit is embodied in the shapes, colours and materials of Briston's first collection. The Clubmaster breaks new ground with its tortoiseshell acetate case, previously used only in eyewear. A noble, natural material that gives Briston watches a distinctive look.

BIRTH OF CLUBMASTER

2013

In 2013, Briston launched its first collection: the Clubmaster Classic, with its inimitable square-camber shape and signature tortoiseshell acetate case.

SPORTY VERSION

2015

In 2015, the Clubmaster line was extended to include a Sport version with a Chronograph & Date model and an HMS, Day & Date model.

DIVING WATCH

2017

The sports version of the Clubmaster line has been extended to include a diver's watch with an automatic movement: the Clubmaster Diver.

AUTOMATIC OPEN

2018

Briston is adding an automatic HMS with an open dial to its Clubmaster line: the Clubmaster Iconic.

FEMININE TOUCHES

2019

After launching its first women's watch, the Clubmaster Chic, in 2017, Briston is having fun releasing a 24mm version: the Clubmaster Lady.

STREAMLINER LINE

2020

Inspired by the Streamline movement of the late 1930s, Briston came up with a new "tonneau-camber" line. The Streamliner was born.

STREAMLINER URBAN

2022

Briston is releasing its Streamliner line in a sporty-chic version for urban adventurers.

ALREADY 10 YEARS

2023

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Briston has created a timepiece featuring a Swiss Made engine for the first time: the Streamliner Urban 10th anniversary.
